Civil Rights Activist Fuller to Speak at Met High School Black Box Theater

Civil rights activist Howard Fuller will speak at the Met High School Black Box Theater as part of an event hosted by College Unbound and Eduleaders of Color.

The event will take place on Thursday, March 14 at 6 p.m.

Fuller will talk about the urgency of changing how students are taught in schools and universities.

He will also be signing copies of his new book, "No Struggle, No Progress."

About Fuller

Fuller is the Founding Director of the Institute for the Transformation of Learning at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

A former Milwaukee Superintendent of Schools and former Senior Fellow at the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University, he is perhaps best known for his community organizing work in Durham, North Carolina, where he co-founded the Malcolm X Liberation University.

Chair of the Board of Milwaukee Collegiate Academy, he also serves on the board of the Black Alliance for Educational Options, and is an advisory board member of the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools and the National Association for Charter School Authorizers.
