Man Attacked and Hospitalized After Allegedly Sexually Assaulting Woman in Providence Restaurant

Providence police responded to a man injured outside of a restaurant early Saturday morning. 

According to police, the man had been attacked after people heard he had allegedly sexually assaulted a female patron in the establishment.

About Incident

Police say that shortly after 12:30 AM on Saturday, an officer on routine patrol encountered a disturbance outside of La Braza located at 187 Elmwood Avenue.

Police say that when they arrived on the scene, a man later identified as Jesus Tiburcio, age 25, appeared to have been attacked.

Witnesses told police that Tiburcio had earlier sexually assaulted a woman inside the premises.

Tiburcio was transported to Rhode Island Hospital due to his injuries.

A victim later came forward and made a report that Tiburcio assaulted her in one of the restaurant's bathrooms.

Police then went to the hospital and placed Tiburcio in custody.

He is facing second-degree sexual assault charges.
