Man Reportedly Assaulted, Robbed Outside of Neighborhood Bar in Providence

A man was reportedly assaulted — and robbed — outside of a neighborhood bar in the Wanskuck section of the city early Saturday morning,

About Incident 

Shortly before 3 AM on Saturday, Providence police responded to the Shell gas station at 598 Branch Avenue for a report of a victim of a robbery.

According to police, they met with a male victim — who they said was bruised and bloodied — who told police he had assaulted and robbed at another location.

The victim said he had been outside of McCormick’s Pub on Veazie Street, when three men approached him, struck him in the face and body.

He said he was robbed of cash and his belongings, including his phone. 

Police reported then searching the area outside of McCormick’s Pub, and finding items belonging to the victim. 

The victim was transported to Miriam Hospital for his injuries.

Police are currently investigating.
