Man Shot in Front of Renaissance Hotel by State House on Sunday Afternoon

Police are investigating a shooting on Sunday afternoon in front of the Renaissance Hotel that sent one man to the hospital.

According to police, shortly after 1:15 PM, there was a report of a shooting at 106 Francis Street, in front of the Providence hotel -- which is located across from the Rhode Island State House. 

A 28-year-old male victim was reportedly driven to Rhode Island Hospital. 

Police say the man sustained a gunshot wound to his lower leg.

The injury, according to police, is non-life-threatening.
