Providence Police are investigating a shooting in the city on Monday morning.

About Incident

Shortly after midnight on Monday, police responded to the 300 block of Elmwood Avenue for a report of a shooting.

Police said upon arrival, they observed blood -- and nearly two dozen shell casings.

At that time, police said they received a call of a gunshot victim arriving at Rhode Island Hospital.

Police said they met with the victim who sustained a gunshot wound to his arm.

Detectives are currently investigating.
