Man Stabbed in Kennedy Plaza — Latest Violence at Epicenter of Downtown Providence

It marks the latest episode of violence in downtown Providence across from City Hall and Mayor Brett Smiley.
A woman was assaulted, and also hospitalized, following an argument in Kennedy Plaza in downtown Providence on Sunday night - over $20.

Between July 1 and 23, there were eleven assaults at Kennedy Plaza, including one that took place directly across the street next to City Hall.
About Incident
Shortly after 5 AM Wednesday morning, police responded to a bus stop in the area of the Amtrak train station for a report of a stabbing.
The victim -- a male in his 30s -- said he had been in Kennedy Plaza, when he was stabbed in the stomach.
Police said the victim had a deep wound to his stomach and was bleeding.
According to police, the victim was unable to provide a description of the suspect.
Rescue transported the victim to Rhode Island Hospital.
