Man Stabbed in Apartment on Thayer Street

Providence police responded to a stabbing on Thayer Street on the East Side of Providence overnight. 

About Incident

Police were called to the 200 block of Thayer Street shortly after midnight Wednesday morning for a report of a stabbing victim.

Upon arrival, police said they met with the male victim — who said he had gotten into a fight with his partner at their residence. 

According to the victim, his partner became irate and hit him on the head with a frying pan before stabbing him in the arm with scissors.

The victim was taken by rescue to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. 

Detectives are investigating.
