Man Suffering Stab Wound Involved in Head-On Car Crash in Providence

A man suffering from a stab wound was involved in a two-car accident in Providence on Thursday.

About Incident 

Shortly after 9 PM on Thursday, police were called to the area of Hartford Avenue and the off-ramp of Route 6 east in Olneyville for a report of a stabbing.

When police arrived, officers said they found a vehicle with damage to the front end, and the driver — a male in his 50s — suffering from a stab wound to his neck. 

Police said blood could be seen in the vehicle; the man told police he had been hit with a knife by someone he knew. 

At the scene, police said they saw another vehicle with front-end damage and a man lying in the grass nearby.

Both individuals were taken by rescue to the hospital. 

Witnesses told police they observed the head-on crash on Hartford Avenue.
