5 Arrested at Dominican Festival in Providence - Drinks Thrown at Police Officers, Gun Confiscated

One individual is facing gun charges.
Officers were reportedly hit with alcoholic beverages as they tried to disperse what police said were disorderly crowds at the end of the event.

About Incident
According to police, shortly before 10 PM on Sunday, police tried to break up large crowds that were engaged in public drinking on Broad Street at Miller Avenue.
Police said that they asked a man who drinking from an open liquor bottle, and in possession of a black satchel, to leave the area, at which time he attempted to evade police and discard the satchel.
Officers then went to detain the suspect — later identified as Adonis Placencia, age 27 — and upon searching the satchel found a gun.
According to police, Placencia resisted arrest as he was placed in police custody.
At that time, police said a large crowd began to gather and throw drinks at them, hitting several officers.
Police then arrested and detained Edward Mclean, age 40, and Denzel Rodriguez, age 25; officers said they were also physically assaulted by Damian Reyes, age 19, who was also arrested and detained.
Melissa Reynoso, age 24, was also arrested and detained for reportedly pushing officers.
Police say contained in the satchel was a 9mm gun with a magazine containing live cartridges.
Charges
Placencio, who is facing firearms-related charges, will also be charged with Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, and Open Container.
Mclean will be charged with Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct.
Rodriguez will be charged with Simple Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct.
Reyes will be charged with Obstruction and Disorderly Conduct.
Reynoso will be charged with Obstruction and Disorderly Conduct.
