Mayor James Diossa: 15 Who Made a Difference in 2015

Central Falls Mayor James Diossa continues to elevate Central Falls -- and help the most in need.
He may be the mayor of a one square mile city (well, a little over), but Central Falls Mayor James Diossa is going places — literally.  He was invited to Washington to see Pope Francis when visited the U.S.  He went to Israel with a Rhode Island delegation to Israel — and said that Central Falls would take Syrian refugees is asked by the federal government.

While Diossa might have a worldview outside of Rhode Island’s smallest city, he is focused at the goal at hand of overseeing the turnaround of Central Falls since its emergence from bankruptcy.  From highlighting the diverse culinary offerings during Central Falls restaurant week, to bringing on former Director of Health Michael Fine to be a community health advisor, Diossa is serving as both chief publicist and chief operating officer to bring Central Falls forward.

And no deed is too small for Diossa, who have his bike to a young resident when he learned his bike had been stolen.   Diossa doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk — and more.
