NEW: Gas Prices Up 40 Cents in Past Two Months

Gas prices are up 40 cents in last two months.
Rhode Island gas prices have risen 40 cents over the last two months.

This comes after gas prices rose seven cents this week, according to AAA Northeast.

“Monday morning crude oil was trending higher on reports that the U.S. State Department plans to end the use of waivers for countries to import oil from Iran in an attempt to end all oil exports from that country. Decreases in Iranian exports could tighten supply in the global market, though that could be balanced by increased U.S. production,” said Lloyd Albert, AAA Northeast Senior Vice President of Public and Government Affairs.
