NEW: NAACP Providence Branch to Honor Five at Freedom Fund Gala

The event, "Journey for Justice: Our Votes, Our Jobs, Our Schools, Our Lives Matter" will feature Ed Gordon of BET as the keynote speaker.
NAACP Youth Council leader Pilar McCloud will be given the Rosa Parks Award, Ed German will receive the George S. Lima Award, and John Prince will be awarded the Medgar Evers Award.

GoLocal's Kate Nagle won the Ida B. Wells Award in 2014. NAACP Providence Branch President Jim Vincent was one of GoLocal's 14 Who Made a Difference in 2014.
