"We will mirror the goals and principles of #300menRI but be our own entity with our own programs," said Scorpio. "We hope to gather women from every side of town to unite together and work for our youth.  Men, women, girls, boys, where we see a need we will jump in."

Scorpio said that the group has been volunteering with the Midnight Basketball League.

"Right now we are volunteering at the midnight league at all four parks.  We walk around and talk to people.  See if anyone needs help.  Introduce the community to local and state police officers.  Work on initiatives with  the mayor to improve our city," said Scorpio.

"We will be marching in the No More Murder March on Saturday and we will be participating with National Coalition of 100 Black Women-Rhode Island Chapter (NCBW), March of Dimes and, Office of Minority Health at Rhode Island Department of Health for Black Sisters United Wellness Summit: “Promoting Healthy Habits Before, During, and After Pregnancy," said Scorpio. "We purposefully left our mission statement open so we can meet the needs of our community."
