Shooting at Worcester State University - Homecoming and Family Weekend Canceled

Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.’s office announced that law enforcement continue to investigate a shooting that occurred on the Worcester State University Campus around 2:30 a.m.

Investigators have identified two shooting victims.

Neither the victims nor the suspected assailants are students of Worcester State University.

Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Troop C, the Worcester State University Police Department and the Worcester Police Department continue to investigate.

A shelter-in-place was instituted by university officials.

Anyone with information, photos or video around the areas of Wasylean Hall and Sheehan Hall are asked to share it with Massachusetts State Police, University Police, and Worcester Police.

The university canceled homecoming, family weekend, and all events.
