Peter Neronha: 19 to Watch in 2019
He has revamped the office’s staff dramatically by ushering out the Kilmartin regime and bringing in his own team.
Neronha immediately faces a number of hot-button issues, including the review of the now pending acquisition of Care New England by Boston-based Partners HealthCare -- a monumental deal would transform the local ownership of one of Rhode Island's most important charitable assets and largest employers from local control to Boston.

While the Attorney General’s office is not a direct party to the litigation, Neronha’s predecessor approved the 2014 hospital merger that in part led to the pension fund collapse.
The Attorney General’s office is also in the midst of an opioid lawsuit against the manufacturers of the drugs for their alleged role in deceptive marketing.
