Petition Started in Opposition to Rhode Island’s New License Plate

A Warren woman started a change.org campaign that as of Sunday night had more than 2,600 signatures.
“Overwhelming consensus within our beautiful state is that we hate this license plate design and cannot imagine how it won. We mean no disrespect to the person who submitted this, but it looks almost no different than the current design and reeks of a cash grab,” writes Rebecca Vieira, the organizer.

The new license plate was unveiled on Wednesday by state officials.
On Friday, Vieira had updated news about the petition.
“We’re almost at 1500 signatures on our petition to show that we won't adopt the 'winning' license plate design. Thank you so much for stepping up. Rhode Island deserves to be represented better than this! Will you help again by sharing this with ten other people? If we stand together we can't be ignored.
