RI State Police and Cranston Police Investigating Suspicious Death of Infant

Detectives from the Rhode Island State Police and the Cranston Police Department are actively investigating the death of a 9-month old infant boy that occurred on Wednesday, December 2.

At approximately 1:00PM, the Cranston Fire and the Cranston Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive and not breathing infant at a residence on Lincoln Avenue in Cranston.

The Cranston Fire Department subsequently transported the infant to Hasbro Children's Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The State Police said in a statement, they investigatin  “into the circumstances surrounding the infant's death.”

Cranston Police Department and  State Police executed  a search warrant at a residence in the Town of West Greenwich. The joint investigation is currently active and on-going.
