On Wednesday, Leggette was shot — and killed — in New Jersey.

According to law enforcement, Leggette was located by U.S. Marshals in a hotel in South Brunswick, when they attempted to take him into custody.

Leggette reportedly fired at officers, who returned fire killing him.

He was wanted for additional crimes — as NBC New York reported, Leggette was a suspect in the 2022 robbery of the so-called “Bling Bishop” in Brooklyn.

“Leggette was wanted for the robbery of Bishop Lamor Miller-Whitehead who was robbed of $1 million of jewelry on-camera during a livestreamed sermon in July 2022, sources tell NBC New York,” reported NBC.

About RI Incident

As GoLocal reported in August 2023:

"A male in his 30s — told police he had been sitting in his car with his girlfriend in front of the Walgreens at 333 Atwells Avenue.

According to police, the victim said an unknown male suspect — later identified as Leggette — approached the driver’s side and drew a handgun, and demanded anything of value in the vehicle.

The victim said before he could hand anything over, the suspect fired a shot, hitting him in the buttocks.

The suspect then reportedly reached into the car and took jewelry, including necklaces and a Rolex, and fled on foot.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries."
