The U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division will investigate the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Alton Sterling in Louisiana.

Sterling was shot and killed in an altercation with police early Tuesday morning.

On Wednesday, more than 200 protestors gathered in front of the convenience store where Sterling was killed.
