"Ask your friends and family to vote for us," said Ahmad. "It is a matter of pride for this wonderful state and if we win, the marketing the airport gets, the state gets, is wonderful for economic development and job creation".

“[It's currently a] 2.6 billion dollar impact coming out of aviation in Rhode Island, 22,400 jobs associated — so anything we can do to bolster that is great,” said Ahmad.

Since voting began in December, T.F. Green has regularly held the number one spot on the leaderboard. In the waning days of voting, USA Today has turned the leaderboard off.
"Best Small Airport" is one of 16 categories in USA Today's travel polls.
The winners will be announced on January 24.
