Woman Robbed Leaving Popular Downtown Providence Bar - Suspect in Custody
Police then reportedly located and arrested a suspect - who they say was in the process of committing another crime.

About Incident
Shortly after 9:30 PM on Saturday, police responded to Fountain Street for a report of a robbery.
The victim - a female in her 30s - said she had just left Marcelino’s in the Omni Hotel with a friend, when she said a man came up to her and snatched her purse.
According to police, shortly thereafter, a security guard at a bar on Eddy Street flagged down an officer to say that he saw a coat and a phone on the ground on the sidewalk.
He said when he approached two males next to the items, that they fled the scene.
Police say that the purse and phone were returned to the victim, but she said upon inspection, her license and credit cards had been taken.
Suspect Apprehended
Detectives reviewed video surveillance footage in the area and said they identified the suspects.
Police say the suspect who reportedly stole the purse was apprehended a short time later - while committing another crime.
