Woman Robbed at Knifepoint by Masked Juveniles in Providence

Providence police are investigating a reported robbery at knifepoint in the city.

It occurred just off of Chalkstone Avenue.

Shortly after 6 PM on Friday, officers responded to Alton Street for a report of a robbery.

Police met with the victim - a female in her 40s - who said she had been sitting inside her vehicle when three juvenile males approached her.

She said one of the juveniles, who was wearing a mask, opened the door to the vehicle and pointed a knife at her, demanding everything she had. 

According to the victim, she screamed for her husband who was inside the house.

The victim told police the suspects stole a cell phone and wallet; she said one of the juveniles attempted to grab her purse out of her hands.

The suspects then reportedly fled on foot; police said they canvassed the area to no avail.
