About Incident

Shortly before 11 PM Tuesday night, Providence Police said they responded to Moorefield Street in Silver Lake for a report of an assault.

Police said they met with the female victim in her 20s, who said her car was vandalized and she had been attacked.

The victim reportedly told police she had been sitting in her vehicle when a vehicle with tinted windows pulled up and three individuals — two males and a female — got out.

According to the victim, one of the men smashed her rear car windows with a baseball bat; when she went to exit her vehicle, she said the man then smashed the driver’s side window with the bat and the door hit her in the face.

She said the other man approached her wielding a knife and attempted to stab her but missed; she said the three individuals then got into the vehicle that they had arrived in and fled.

Police said the victim told them she believed the attack was reportedly over $100 that a man said was owed to him but she refutes the claim.

According to police, the victim's vehicle could be seen heavily damaged.

Detectives are currently investigating.
