The friction over Hillary Clinton between the parties is taking the forefront in RI and any thawing between the Democratic party and WPRO AM talk radio may be over.

Comments by RI GOP leader Brandon Bell about Hillary Clinton during an interview last night on Tara Granahan’s night time show on WPRO AM has sparked a fiery response from Democratic Chair Joe McNamara and a demand for an apology.

Bell should be doing everything he can to elevate the conversation - focus on policies and world and national events. Instead, he makes comments like this: the discourse in this election cycle from Republicans has become so hateful and repugnant, it's hit an all-time low. I cannot imagine how the likes of late Senator John Chafee would have reacted to remarks such as these.

“It’s easy to see why people get turned off to politics. At this time, when the stakes are so high, we want to bring voters into the process, not push them away," he said.
