Stephen Neuman: 15 to Watch in RI in 2015

Stephen Neuman
Since being elected Rhode Island's first female Governor in November, Governor-elect Gina Raimondo has made a number of key staffing announcements leading up to her inauguration on January 6 -- including two staffers from Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley's Administration.

First, Raimondo picked Stephen Neuman to be Chief of Staff.  Neuman's previous post was Director of Public Affairs in Maryland for O'Malley, where he served as the chief liaison to the Maryland Department of Business and Economic and other agencies. Previously, Neuman worked for North Carolina Governor Beverly Purdue and was an attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.

Next Raimondo, tapped Scott Jensen, currently the Deputy Secretary of the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR), for Rhode Island Director of Labor and Training.

Neuman and Jensen are joined by former Newark economic chief Stefan Pryor (who Raimondo will nominate for Commerce Secretary) as three top hires from out of state -- keep an eye on the first six months, during the General Assembly season, to see how they hit the ground running in Rhode Island.
