Fung Releases New Television Ad
Republican candidate for Governor Allan Fung has released his new television ad, "The Cranston Comeback".
“We were able to turn around the City of Cranston and my Open for Business plan will get Rhode Islanders working again by reforming taxes, cutting through government red tape, improving education, and promoting our great resources for tourism,” said Fung.

Smith Blasts Paiva-Weed on Casino Referendum
Republican candidate for Senate Mike Smith has blasted opponent Teresa Paiva-Weed on the casino referendum.
Smith said, “There are no ifs, ands or buts about it. My opponent removed the casino referendum from the local ballot on behalf of her ‘insider’ friends and their back-‐room deals. Teresa Paiva-Weed was well aware of the anti-‐casino movement and has been for years. History proves this. And she has been justifying her recent canvassing actions as an “ease” on the voters of Newport and Jamestown and the Board of Elections. I feel my opponent believed she would not ‘get caught’ in her actions. However, she has been exposed and these back-‐room political moves were, and remain, unconstitutional. But thanks to Citizens Concerned Against Casino Gambling, my campaign and many others we now see that Paiva-‐Weed attempted to thwart, once again, the good citizens of Newport and Jamestown so her insider friends could expand the casino in Newport. And I hope the voters of District 13 understand that if Paiva-‐Weed is re-‐elected as their senator, the casino will be back on the ballot in two years – and the unhealthy, polarizing controversy that comes with it.”
UFCW Local 328 Endorses Taylor
The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 328 has endorsed Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor Catherine Taylor.
“I thank UFCW Local 328 for their endorsement,” said Taylor. “I had the opportunity to witness the dedication of their members through my work on senior nutrition as director of the Division of Elderly Affairs and on the Inter-agency Food and Nutrition Policy Advisory Council. I look forward to advancing that work together in my term as lieutenant governor and as chair of the Long Term Care Coordinating Council.”
