Barrington Advances to Little League World Series

Barrington is headed to the Little League World Series.

Barrington Little League edged Goffstown, New Hampshire 6-4 on Saturday afternoon in Bristol to reach the World Series.

They become the fifth Rhode Island team in the last six years to reach the World Series joining Cumberland, Cranston West, Warwick North, and Coventry.

Barrington’s first World Series game will take place on Thursday, August 15 at 3 p.m. against Virginia’s Loudoun South Little League.

Barrington Wins

With the score tied at two in the bottom of the 4th, Barrington’s Lucas Tanous hit a bases-loaded single to score Will DiGiacomo to take a 3-2 lead.

Barrington’s Owen Pfeffer then hit a bases-loaded single of his own to score two runs and give Barrington a 5-2 lead.

After New Hampshire cut the lead to 5-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Barring responded in the top of the 6th when Christopher Promades drove in a run to give Barrington a 6-3 edge.

New Hampshire would add a run in the bottom of the sixth, but Barrington would hang on for the 6-4 win.
