Bears Fade in Second Half, Drop Game 66-49 To American

The Brown Bears men's basketball team (3-6) lost 66-49 to (5-3) American on Wednesday night at the Pizzitola Center. The loss snaps the Bears two game winning streak and sends them back to three games below the .500 mark.

The Bears led by as much as eight points in the first half but at halftime trailed American 29-28. In the second half, the Eagles opened up on a 16-8 run helped by three Brown turnovers and a couple of missed free throws by the Bears. Brown never got closer then ten points the rest of the game.

Brown was led by Cedric Kuakumensah who netted 17 points and pulled down four rebounds in the game to go along with three blocks. Leland King followed up with a double-double, 11 points and 13 rebounds. 

Jesse Reed led the Eagles with 22 points and eight rebounds.

Next up for Brown, they host in state rival Bryant University on Saturday, December 6. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
