Brown Rolls Central Connecticut 67-55, Get Back to .500
Steven SpiethThe Brown Bears men's basketball team (6-6) went on the road and defeated (2-9) Central Connecticut 67-55 on Monday afternoon. The Bears have now won five of their last six games and are back at the .500 mark on the season.

Brown built up a 36-21 lead at halftime and in the second half would cut their deficit to as low as six points, 52-46. But Central Connecticut would not get any closer. The Bears would go on an 11-0 run to go up 63-46 and put the game away.
Brown was led by Steven Spieth who netted 19 points, 13 of them in the second half, while teammate Tavon Blackmon added 16 points in the Brown victory.
Matt Mobley added a game high 22 points for Central Connecticut in the loss.
Brown returns to action on Sunday, December 28 when they host Sacred Heart at the Pizzitola Center. Tip off is set for 2 p.m.

Five Takeaways From Brown's 67-55 Win Over Central Connecticut
Steven Spieth
Other then his team leading five turnovers, Steven Spieth had a solid game for the Brown Bears on the road.
Spieth netted 19 points, 13 of them in the second half, and also grabbed ten rebounds for a double-double.
Spieth went 7 of 14 from the field, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc to lead the Bears.
Steven Spieth also added two assists and a steal in the game.
Cedric Kuakumensah
The two time Ivy League defensive player of the year, Cedric Kuakumensah had a nice performance for the Bears on the road.
Kuakumensah had 13 points, all in the first half, and missed a double-double by one rebound as he had nine in the game.
Kuakumensah also did what he does best and that's protect the rim as he had five blocked shots in the game.
Rebounding Domination
The Brown Bears dominated the boards led by Steven Spieth and Rafael Maia who each had ten rebounds in the game.
Kuakumensah added nine rebounds as well.
Brown out rebounded Central Connecticut 43-31 in the game, including 11 offensive rebounds which helped lead to 15 second chance points.
Turnovers Galore
A big negative coming out of this game for the Bears was the turnovers.
Brown as a team had 21 turnovers in the game, led by Steven Spieth who had five and Tavon Blackmon and Cedric Kuakumensah who followed up with four turnovers each.
Central Connecticut had 21 points off of Brown turnovers. Central Connecticut only had ten turnovers in the game.
Head coach Mike Martin needs to get his team to clean up the turnovers.
Back to .500
It's been an up and down season thus far for Mike Martin and the Brown Bears but it seems things are turning around. The Bears have won five of their last six games and are back to the .500 mark at 6-6 on the season.
The Bears return home on Sunday to host Sacred Heart at the Pizzitola Center before heading down to URI for a New Year's Eve afternoon game against the in-state rival URI Rams.
