Bruins Shut Out by Senators 1-0 in Game 4, Trail Series 3-1

The Boston Bruins are facing elimination, trailing 3-1 in their series with the Ottawa Senators following a 1-0 loss in game 4 on Wednesday night at the TD Garden. 

The Senators won in Boston for the fifth straight time dating back to 2015 and seventh time in the last eight games home or away this season. 

Boston have never come back from a 3-1 series deficit.

Ottawa Edges Boston in 3rd

With the game tied at zero 5:49 into the third period, Ottawa’s  Erik Karlsson blasted a shot that deflected off Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask to his stick side. Ottawa’s Bobby Ryan took the puck and knocked it past a diving Zdeno Chara to get the Senators on the board.

The goal was Ryan’s second game winning goal in two games. 

The Bruins would have a couple of chances to tie the game up in the final minute, including two by Brad Marchand, however Craig Anderson was there to make the saves for his fourth career postseason shutout. 

Bruins Goal Called Back 

The Bruins got on the board in the first period on a goal by Rhode Island’s Noel Acciari, but the goal was called back on an offside after a coaches challenge. 

The goal happened approximately 20 seconds after the actual offside happened and would have give the Bruins a 1-0 lead in the game. 

Must Win Game 5 

The Bruins face a must win game five on Friday night in Ottawa. 

Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
