What are you looking forward to this season?

What has been the biggest challenge being a high school athlete?
The biggest challenge of being a three-sport high school athlete all four years is motivation to practice daily. If it’s a game day I’m fully motivated and ready to go, but practicing daily after school gets old very quickly when there is no break all year.
Who is your biggest motivator?
My biggest motivators are my two older brothers and my Dad, they are always pushing me to be a better player, criticizing and praising my play. My mom also plays a big part in motivating me. Without them I wouldn’t be the athlete I am now.
Who is your biggest rival?
I really don’t have a big rival this year in baseball because we changed divisions, but one of my rivals would be Westerly because they changed divisions with us.
What are you working to improve your game?
I’m currently trying to get full strength back in my throwing arm. I separated my throwing shoulder during hockey this year so I’m not at full strength yet.
What is your greatest memory on the field?
My greatest memory was this year. It was the 7th inning tie score 3-3 with two outs and man on second. My teammate Nate said to me right before my at bat “It's your time to shine.” I just laughed at him because I was struggling at the plate all game but I ended up hitting a game winning double over the centerfielders head.
How are you able to balance your schoolwork with practices, games, and training?
It’s very difficult to balance school with practices and games but the schoolwork has to get done so I can continue to play my sport. So if I have a free period I will get some work done, but if not I buckle down after my practice/game and do my work.
Where do you see yourself going from here, do you plan to pursue this sport in college?
After high school I’m going to CCRI and then into the Coast Guard. CCRI has a great baseball program so I’m going to try out for the team and hopefully I will make it.
