The season has been going pretty well, we've been having success in tight games, which is always good. We had one close loss to Moses Brown but we're a mature team and we can easily come back form something like that.

What has been the biggest challenge being a high school athlete?

As a high school athlete my biggest challenge is probably getting some time to relax. The combination of sports and school leaves me inundated with work both on the field and in the classroom which in turn translates to work at home that leaves me busy and with little time to just sit back and relax.

Who is your biggest motivator?

My biggest motivator is probably Muhammad Ali simply for the reason that he was undoubtedly the best because of his hard work and confidence. I think that his constant battle to be the very best is something that can be admired by anyone both inside and outside the world of sports.

Who is your biggest rival?

Our biggest rival is without question Bishop Hendricken. There is an intense rivalry in all sports between our schools that always provides for a lot of passion on the field and in the stands.

What are you working to improve your game?

To improve my game I’ve been working on a more controlled step to the ball as opposed to simply flying out to make the save and leaving the goal exposed in the event of a rebound. Working on my steps is also a result of recently having to start wearing a brace for my knee, because while protected by the brace my knee is still vulnerable to further damage by wild steps.

What is your greatest memory on the field?

My greatest memory on the field came a few weeks ago when we beat Hendricken in quadruple overtime. Its especially memorable not because I played a particularly good game but because the team as a whole really showed what we can do and that we have what it takes to play in tight situations. The defense especially really showed its ability to excel in clutch situations.

How are you able to balance your schoolwork with practices, games, and training?

For the most part I don’t really struggle with balancing my schoolwork and sports. While my academic schedule is somewhat rigorous, the amounts of work I’m assigned rarely reach the point where they stress me out or interfere with the other aspects of my life such as athletics.

Where do you see yourself going from here, do you plan to pursue this sport in college?

In terms of furthering my career in lacrosse since next year I’ll be attending Boston University, where I hope to play at the club level. While I wish I could be playing at a higher or more dedicated level it would be irresponsible to base my college choice upon lacrosse alone. However I do feel that a high level club team with great expectations going into every season will be a good fit for me in the coming years given I make the team.
