NEW: PC Hockey Ranked #1 in the Country

The Providence College Friars men's hockey team is ranked number one in the country in both the USCHO.com Poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.

PC earned 29 first place votes in the USCHO.com poll and 18 first place votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll. This is the first time the Friars have been ranked number one in hockey since 1983 under Lou Lamoriello.

The Friars are followed by Boston College, North Dakota, Quinnipiac and UMass Lowell in the rankings.

The Friars are 6-0-1 on the season and will host #11 Boston University on Friday night at Schneider in a rematch of last year's national championship game. The game will be shown live on NESN beginning at 6 p.m.
