PC Holds Off Seton Hall, Win at Home 69-62
"We're excited to get the win, after losing three out of four, tough loss to Villanova, it was a good win," said Friars head coach, Ed Cooley after the game.

GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTKris Dunn picked up his fourth foul with 12:24 left in the half with theFriars up 41-34 in the game. Dunn went to the bench, and PC's offense really struggled meanwhile, Seton Hall went on a 14-6 run to take a 48-47 lead.
However, the Friars recovered going on a 14-4 run to take a 61-52 lead after a Carson Desrosiers lay up with 1:18 left to play. Seton Hall would get back within four points, 66-62, with 18 seconds left but Providence would hang on for the win.
The Friars were led by LaDontae Henton, who netted 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while teammate Kris Dunn poured in 19 points and dished out eight assists.
Seton Hall was led by Isaiah Whitehead, who poured in 20 points for the Pirates.
The Friars return to action on Wednesday, February 18 when they visit DePaul. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m.

Five Takeaways From the Friars 69-62 Win Over Seton Hall
Hadnot & Thompson
At halftime, Providence College raised the jersey's of Jim Hadnot and John Thompson to the rafters.
Jim Hadnot's family (pictured) was in attendance to accept the honor while Thompson was unable to make it due to legendary North Carolina coach Dean Smiths funeral which was being held in North Carolina.
Hadnot scored 1,467 points and pulled down 1,299 rebounds leading the Friars to a 69-16 record during the course of his career. Hadnot graduated as the school's all time leading scorer and rebounder. Most notably, Hadnot helped Providence win their first NIT title in 1961 before being drafted 25th overall in the 1962 NBA draft.
John Thompson scored 1,520 points and grabbed 1,061 rebounds and is one of only six players in Friars history to put up over 1,000 points and rebounds. Thompson helped the Friars win the 1963 NIT title and was named to the NIT All-Tournament team. Thompson was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1999.
Chukwu
Ed Cooley had high praise for Paschal Chukwu after the game, saying that he should have played him more and that he doesn't care if Chukwu fouls out of every game because that would mean that he is being aggressive.
Chukwu played 15 minutes against Seton Hall and netted five points on 2-of-2 shooting from the field and knocke down the only free throw that he took.
Chukwu also grabbed four rebounds, had one block and one steal in the game.
Kris Dunn
Kris Dunn poured in 19 points, dished out eight assists and had six steals in the game for the Friars. Dunn's 19 points came on 7-of-13 shooting from the field and 5-of-7 from the free throw line.
Dunn had four turnovers in the game but what nearly cost PC was when he picked up his fourth foul with with 12:24 to go. Dunn fouled a Seton Hall player going in on a fast break when he probably should have let the player score.
Dunn had to sit on the bench and the PC offense really struggled and Seton Hall went on a big run to take the lead.
Kris Dunn being on the floor is a lot more valuable than not giving up that two points and taking the fourth foul.
LaDontae Henton
LaDontae Henton led the Friars with 22 points and nine rebounds in his third to last game as a Friar at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.
Henton's 23 points came on 6-of-15 shooting from the field but he went 4-of-7 from three-point land. Henton was the only Friar to hit from beyond the arc in the game. PC went 4-of-15 from three-point land as a team.
Henton has now had at least 20 points in three straight games for the Friars.
Solid D on both ends
Bot Seton Hall and Providence played some pretty stingy defense in this game. There were numerous possessions where both the Friars and the Pirates were just narrowly getting shots off before the shot clock expired.
Seton Hall shot 36 % from the floor and 29 % from three-point land while PC shot 38% from the field and 27% from three-point land. Statistically, the Friars are one of the worst three point shooting teams in the Big East.
Providence forced 19 turnovers, 11 of which came off of steals while PC turned the ball over 13 times.
