PC Holds Off Seton Hall, Win at Home 69-62

The Providence College Friars men's basketball team (18-8, 8-5 Big East) defeated the (15-10, 5-8 Big East) Seton Hall Pirates 69-62 on Saturday afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The win snaps a two games losing streak for Providence as they head back out on the road. 

"We're excited to get the win, after losing three out of four, tough loss to Villanova, it was a good win," said Friars head coach, Ed Cooley after the game.

Kris Dunn picked up his fourth foul with 12:24 left in the half with theFriars up 41-34 in the game. Dunn went to the bench, and PC's offense really struggled meanwhile, Seton Hall went on  a 14-6 run to take a 48-47 lead. 

However, the Friars recovered going on a 14-4 run to take a 61-52 lead after a Carson Desrosiers lay up with 1:18 left to play. Seton Hall would get back within four points, 66-62, with 18 seconds left but Providence would hang on for the win. 

The Friars were led by LaDontae Henton, who netted 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while teammate Kris Dunn poured in 19 points and dished out eight assists. 

Seton Hall was led by Isaiah Whitehead, who poured in 20 points for the Pirates. 

The Friars return to action on Wednesday, February 18 when they visit DePaul. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m.
