NEW: URI Basketball Lands Indiana Transfer Robinson

Stanford Robinson
Indiana transfer Stanford Robinson committed to the University of Rhode Island on Tuesday. Robinson who was also being recruited by VCU, announced his decision via his twitter account.

"I think he has grown a great deal and matured in the two years he has been a part of the program and I hope he takes his experiences at Indiana University to remind him of what he can accomplish not only as a basketball player, but as a human being," said Indiana head coach Tom Crean on the school's website.

Robinson at Indiana

Robinson is a 6'4" sophomore guard from Maryland who will be eligible to play for URI after sitting out a season, per NCAA rules.

During the 2014-15 season, Robinson averaged three points and two rebounds in 11 minutes of play per game this past season with Indiana.

Those numbers are a significant drop from his freshman season in which he averaged six points in 17 minutes of action per game.

Robinson concludes his career at Indiana with an average of 4.7 points per game.

Adding depth

This is the second guard that the Rams have added this off season as Dan Hurley announced the signing of Four McGlynn, a transfer from Towson University in mid April.
