Patriots Defensive Line Coach Bielema to Join Giants Staff

Another coach is expected to leave the New England Patriots staff.

Patriots defensive line coach Bret Bielema will leave New England and join the New York Giants coaching staff, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

According to Rapoport, the Giants are still finalizing details and his eventual role.

Bielema, 50, will join former Patriots wide receivers coach Joe Judge, who was named Giants head coach earlier this month.

He is the second Patriots defensive line coach in two years to leave the team after Brendan Daly left the Patriots to join Kansas City last offseason.

About Bielema

Bielema served as the head coach of the University of Wisconsin from 2006 through 2012, where he won three Big Ten championships.

Following that, he took over the University of Arkansas, where he remained from 2013 through 2017.

Overall, Bielema finished his college head coaching career with a record of 97-58.

Bielema joined the Patriots coaching staff in 2019.
