PC Basketball Alum Kris Dunn Suffers Concussion in NBA Summer League Game

Former PC Star Kris Dunn suffered a concussion during the Timberwolves Summer League  game against Toronto on July 10 and his status going forward is uncertain. Dunn did not play in the Wolves Monday night contest with Cleveland because of the injury. 

"Timberwolves guard Kris Dunn will be held out of today's contest with Cleveland after being diagnosed with a concussion. An examination conducted by Dr. William Rosenberg at the Thomas and Mack Center confirmed the Diagnosis. 

Dunn will enter the NBA's concussion protocol and his status moving forward will be updated as appropriate," the Timberwolves said in a statement prior to Monday's game.

In Minnesota's first two Summer League games, Dunn has posted 27 and 21 points respectively including a 9 rebound and 4 assist performance two games ago against Toronto. 

Minnesota drafted Dunn 5th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft and recently signed him to a rookie contract that will pay him nearly $3.9 million this season.

This past season at Providence, Dunn averaged 16.4 points, 6.2 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game, leading the Friars to the second round of the NCAA Tournament as a redshirt junior.

Dunn has been named the Big East Player of the Year and the Defensive Player of the Year in each of the past two seasons.

The Friars went 23-10 overall this season, and 10-8 in the Big East, making the tournament for the third straight season. 

He graduated from PC in May.
