PC Looks to Bounce Back at They Hosts Brown Weds at the Dunk

Cartwright looking to bounce back after URI loss
Look for an angry Providence College team to seek a decisive victory after a loss at the Ryan Center on Saturday to cross-state rival Rhode Island. The Friars lost to the Rams 75-68.

PC is now 6-2 and looks to display their physical dominance over the Bears.

Brown comes into the game having dropped a 68-62 loss to Central Connecticut. The Bears come in 4-4.

Martin v. Cooley

The matchup of a Big East power versus an Ivy team looks to be a mismatch, but in the five previous games matching up Providence Coach Ed Cooley and Brown’s Coach Mike Martin has Brown winning two of the games.

Key to the game:

- Brown sophomore Brandon Anderson is averaging 19.6 points per game and is he can keep his scoring average the Bears could keep the game close.

- If the Friars dominate the boards, the game could get ugly. Junior forward Travis Fuller has to have a huge game on the boards. Brown's top rebounder with 6.1 per game, posted a double-double vs. LIU-Brooklyn, scoring 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field, while grabbing a career-high 11 rebounds. He needs to take that up a notch.

- Friars can't let Brown hang around. PC may be suffering from a little bit of a consistency and confidence problem. The Friars need to demonstrate dominance early or Martin's Brown could pull the biggest of upsets.

The Brown vs. Providence Series Record:  Brown and Providence have met 123 times, dating back to the 1921-1922 season, with the Friars holding a 95-28 series advantage.
