Okolie Returns to Lineup, Brown Falls 77-64 to Stony Brook

Obi Okolie returned to the Brown lineup after missing the first three games with an injury, but the Bears fell to Stony Brook 77-64 on Wednesday night at Island Federal Credit Union Arena.

Okoli contributed seven points and five rebounds in 15 minutes of action off the bench.

Brown falls to 2-2 on the season.

Brown Can’t Hold on

After the game was tied five times over the first nine minutes of the second half, the Bears grabbed their first lead of the half on an Okolie free throw to go up 51-50 with 10:53 to go.

From that point, Stony Brook went on a 12-2 run over the next 3:18 to take a 62-53 lead capped off by a Bryan Sekunda jumper.

The Bears would get within five, 64-59, but Stony Brook would push their lead back to 12, 71-59 to seal the win.

Brown was led by freshman Desmond Cambridge who poured in a career-high 17 points.

Brown returns to action Saturday, November 25 when they host LIU-Brooklyn.
