PC’s Comeback Falls Short Against St. Johns’s - Carter Career Night

LOGO: PC
The Providence College men’s basketball team lost to St. John’s at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night 75-73.

PC trailed by as many as 16 points in the first half, but repeatedly battled back behind the play of Devin Carter.

Carter posted a career 31 points and added 13 rebounds. And while Carter repeatedly led the Friars to repeated comeback before fouling out, center Josh Oduro delivered just 5 points on 2 of 8 from the field.

The loss was the Friars’ third straight Big East loss — all since Bryce Hopkins went down with a season-ending knee injury.

PC scored just 9 points off the bench and missed 10 free throws.

The game was a match-up on PC's former great coach, Rick Pitino — now the Red Storm’s coach and the Friars’ first-year coach, Kim English.

"It's a growth mindset" Head Coach Kim English said. "We had plenty of opportunities in this game that we will learn from."
