Christina Myers Joins Weeknight NEW for ABC6 News -- Will Co-Host with John DeLuca

Joins ABC6 on June 27th
Christina Myers is taking over as co-host and will join John Deluca at the ABC6 anchor desk weeknights for ABC6 News at 6 and 11 beginning June 27th.

The announcement was made in Providence by Nic Moye, News Director at WLNE-TV/ABC6, “We are excited to have Christina join John for our 6 and 11pm broadcasts. A native Rhode Islander, her local knowledge and exceptional storytelling skills make her the perfect complement to our evening news team.”

According to WLNE-TV/ABC6 Vice President and General Manager Chris Tzianabos,” Christina is an accomplished journalist. Her enthusiasm is contagious; I think she will have a real connection with our viewers.”
 
She is a graduate of Hofstra University with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and Sociology, She grew up in RI and attended elementary and middle school at Cranston-Johnston Catholic Regional before moving on to La Salle Academy for High School.

“Having lived in Rhode Island for most of my life, it’s an honor and a privilege to deliver the news every night to the community I love so much and know so well.   I feel as though I will have a real connection to each story and will likely know at least one person who is personally impacted,” Christina stated.
 
Prior to joining WLNE-TV/ABC6, Christina worked as a Weekend Anchor/Reporter for KGUN, a Morning Anchor/Investigative Reporter for KAUZ and an Anchor-Reporter for WPRO radio.
 
Christina is moving cross country from Tucson to Rhode Island along with the rescue horse she adopted while working with a volunteer group in Arizona.
