"The structure incorporates over 530 pounds of organic gingerbread and nearly 240 pounds of royal icing."
The Newport Marriott is located at 25 America's Cup Way.
Community Involvement
According to the Marriott, students from Chariho High School’s Hospitality program joined the effort, assisting with the foundation and “brickwork” while gaining hands-on experience in collaboration and creativity within a professional setting.
"The gingerbread lighthouse now shines over a festively decorated lobby, where guests are invited to share the spirit of the season by donating non-perishable food items in one of the sleighs," said Marriott. "Contributions will benefit the Martin Luther King Center."
The Gingerbread Lighthouse will be on display through January 4, 2026, and the Marriott asks that visitors consider bringing a canned good to donate.
