According to the NAACP, the movie presents an opportunity to share the story of three African American women at NASA -- Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughn (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe) who served as the brains behind the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit and re-energized the Race to Space, and galvanized the world. It is based on a true story

Students from TIMES2 Academy, ECubed Academy, Juanita Sanchez Educational Complex and Classical will be among the participants for the post discussion, in an effort to expose youth of color to possibilities of a career in the field of science, technology and NASA.
