Central Falls Mayor Diossa hosts Black History month Luncheon
Central Falls Mayor James Diossa celebrated Black History Month alongside the NAACP Providence Branch at New Life Church in Central Falls on Sunday.

“Black History Month helps create awareness of the challenges that were overcome by African Americans. This fortitude serves as encouragement for everyone within Central Falls,” Diossa said. 

During the event, Diossa awarded Mary Holman, a member of New Life Church a Mayor’s Citation for her commitment to the youth. Over nineteen years as a foster parent, she cared for more than twenty children, doing respite care as well

Pastor Bishop Harper and his wife Ingrid Harper helped coordinate the event. 

Saikon Gbehan joined Mayor Diossa on behalf of the NAACP.
