COMING SATURDAY: More Misleading Claims by McKee and Alviti on Washington Bridge

In March of 2024, Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee and Rhode Island Department of Transportation Director Peter Alviti held a press conference and announced that the replacement of the failed Washington Bridge would be completed as soon as March 2026. 

 

They claimed the cost would be between $250 million and $300 million.

Those claims by McKee and Alviti were false.

 

On Friday morning, McKee and Alviti announced that the state has selected a vendor to build the replacement bridge and that new timelines and a new budget had been established.
