Deadly Night of Violence in Providence: Man Killed, Multiple Shootings

It occurred shortly after 3 AM on Elmwood Avenue near Potters Avenue, according to police.
There were reports of additional shootings in the city overnight.

Road Rage Leads to Shooting
Saturday night, police responded to a report of shots fired on Rhodes Street, off of Eddy Street.
The victim told police he had been sitting in his car outside his home when two vehicles approached his location.
He said the passenger in one of the vehicles -- a red Volkswagon Jetta with tinted windows -- began shooting at the other one, and that the windshield of his car was hit.
Police said they then spoke with the driver of the vehicle that was the intended target of the shooting, who said he was the victim of a road rage incident. His car was shot as well.
According to law enforcement authorities, the Jetta was involved in a high-speed pursuit by both Providence and Pawtucket police.
Shots Fired Into House
Shortly after midnight, police responded to a report of shots fired into a residence on Bowdoin Street in Olneyfille.
The victim told police she had been in her bedroom when she heard shots being fired.
She told police that she found multiple bullet holes in her living room.
Police said they observed multiple bullet holes as well as bullet casings in the residence.
Police are currently investigating all incidents.
