Man Shot in Providence — Second Victim of Gun Violence in Two Days

A man was shot in Providence on Wednesday off Douglas Avenue.

It marks the second shooting in two days in the city. 

As GoLocal reported, a man was shot in Providence in the Olneyville section of the city on Tuesday when he went to confront who he believed had thrown rocks from an overpass onto his car while he was driving on Route 6.

About Latest Incident 

Shortly after 10 PM on Wednesday night, police were called Burns Street for a report of a shots fired.

Multiple gunshots were reported as well as a vehicle seen speeding away from the scene. 

When police arrived, they said they found over a half dozen shell casings at the location. 

At that time, police received a call that a gunshot victim had arrived at Rhode Island Hospital. 

The victim, a 19-year-old male, had been driven to the hospital from the scene.

Detectives are currently investigating.
