Providence police are searching for an armed man who reportedly robbed a pharmacy in Providence on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the robbery took place at AJ Pharmacy at 1017 Smith Street in Providence.

Police say witnesses told them the suspect came into the store, went behind the counter, and with a gun, ordered everyone into a back room.

The suspect then reportedly demanded opioids, and was given an undisclosed amount before fleeing the store.

The facility lists drug compounding as one of its capabilities on its website.

Police are currently investigating.
