After-Hours Club
Shortly before 3 AM Saturday morning, police were parked on Thurbers Avenue monitoring what they said is a known after-hours club on Burnside Street.
Police said they witnessed a man attempt to enter the establishment then leave and return to his car, with his hands in the pocket of his hooded sweatshirt, appearing to clutch a concealed object. Police said he then appeared to place the object in the glove compartment, and return to the party.
Later, police said they observed the same individual leave the party with three other people in his vehicle. Police then followed the car and conducted a traffic stop at the corner of Thurbers Avenue and Eddy Street.
Police said they questioned the driver, Mark Vederjo, age 26, as well as the occupants of the vehicle, and upon searching the vehicle, found two loaded pistols as well as a third gun with a loaded magazine.
In addition, police said they seized four boxes of ammunition containing over 200 rounds. Verdejo was transported to Central Station and is facing weapons charges.
Motor Vehicle Stop
At approximately 2:30 AM Saturday morning, police were on Laban Streed driving towards Webster Avenue in the Olneyville section of the city when they said they saw a heavily tinted sedan with a cracked taillight that was out.
Police said they went to conduct a motor vehicle stop, and observed the driver reach over to the glove compartment before returning to an upright position.
According to police, they said they recognized the driver, Alex Depaz, age 18, from prior incidents. There were two other occupants in the vehicle.
Police searched the vehicle and said they located a gun with a loaded magazine beneath the driver's side floorboard, as well as suspected marijuana.
