Shortly after midnight Monday morning, police say they were patrolling in the area of Chad Brown and Douglas Avenue in Providence when they saw a car with heavily tinted windows and no front license plate.
After running a check on the rear plate — and finding it to belong to another vehicle — police said they attempted to make a motor vehicle stop, at which point the driver got out of the car and took off on foot.
According to police, the suspect dropped a gun before ultimately being apprehended by officers.
The juvenile already had an outstanding warrant in Family Court for carrying a pistol without a license.
He was remanded to the training school before a session of Family Court where he will face once again face charges of being in possession of a firearm without a permit.
